CASSIE BRITTON
Cassie graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Child Development and Family Studies. After working two years as a lead teacher at Cornell’s Lab Nursery School she moved to San Francisco. She is celebrating her 37th year with The Little School where she is the Program Director and Developmental Specialist. She also works as a consultant in other local early childhood settings, and provides in-home support services as well. She studied Early Childhood Special Education at San Francisco State University. She has been trained in DIR Floortime™ by the DIR Institute. Cassie and Fiona co-founded Sensory Social Playgroups in 2007.
FIONA ZECCA
Fiona has worked in the field of special education for over thirty five years. She studied Special Education at New York University and holds a Master’s degree from San Francisco State University in Early Childhood Special Education. Fiona spent nine years working for San Francisco Unified School District as an Early Childhood Inclusion Specialist, Special Day Class teacher and as a team member in the Assessment Center. She holds three California teaching credentials. For the last twenty years she has been working privately for families and schools in the Bay Area. Fiona and Cassie co-founded Sensory Social Playgroups in 2007.
BRIDGET JOYCE
Bridget Joyce has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, with a concentration in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, from the University of Colorado at Denver. After moving to San Francisco in 2003, Bridget taught at The Little School as a lead teacher for six years. She then joined Presidio Hill School as a Kindergarten teacher. Bridget presented at a sensory integration workshop at CAEYC, and has collaborated with pediatric occupational therapists, speech therapists, clinical psychologists, neuro-psychologists and physical therapists.
Campbell Kurlander
Campbell is starting her third year at SSP. She has been working with children for over 9 years, in a variety of settings including as a nanny, preschool teacher assistant, camp counselor, elementary school assistant, shadow teacher and as a volunteer in the children’s wing of a hospital. She earned a BA in psychology from Bard College and is currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at Smith college.
